Defining Hell

Here’s a fun question: What would your hell be like?

Of course we need not believe in the existence of hell, but methinks the exercise will prove worthwhile and interesting. Dante of course took a great stab at it in Inferno. So did C. K. Lewis:

I’ve some thoughts:

Hell, for me, would be:

  • watching a series of commercials waiting for a show that never arrives
  • watching yourself make the same poor decisions throughout eternity, knowing you’re powerless to change them
  • knowing you held the meaning of life but can’t remember where you placed it
  • realizing reality is telling you something you’ll never understand
  • cleaning chalkboards with your nails
  • an emotionless life
  • making it into heaven with only one wing
